The
finishing touch to any room need not always be a painting or a chandelier. It
need not be expensive. And it need not always match the interior décor of your
home. It can just be as simple as an accent table.
Accent
tables, from the name itself, emphasize a particular area of the room, without
being too obvious. There are many types of accent tables and these have
multiple functions. But one thing that’s clear is their unobtrusive size which
makes them ideal as a finishing touch to any room. Accent tables are just the right
size and ironically, they don’t stand out much because of their size but they
instantly add style and beauty to your home. They’re simply elegant and at the
same time, functional. You can combine different styles and shapes, mix and
match, without having to worry whether it matches with your sofa or your wall
color or your other interior design. Accent tables will blend in with whatever
you have around.
There
are a variety of accent tables to choose from. They can be made of glass,
metal, slate, wood or iron. Nesting tables or nested tables provide you the
extra table space without occupying much space. They can be neatly stored under
one another and usually come in sets of two or three tables. Sofa tables are
wider. They can hold plants, flowers, picture frames, books, and other stuff.
You can place them against a wall or against the back of a sofa. End tables are
usually square in shape but they can also be round. They are placed at the end
of the sofa and can have magazine racks at the bottom. Coffee tables are
typically center tables which are lower in height. Drum tables are a type of
end table which are round in shape and have cabinets. Accent tables also help
reduce clutter by incorporating drawers, shelves, and cabinets in their design.
Unobtrusive
yet elegant. Décor but functional. Combining functionality and design has never
been easier with accent tables.
